Little Pea's Blog from the Belly (Thoughts from the womb)
September 8, 2008 - I am now 37 weeks and full term! My lungs are fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb. I probably weigh around 6 1/3 pounds and measure a bit over 19 inches, head to heel. My mommy had a doctor's appointment last week, and she was told that I am head down and in the right position for birth. We were a little worried about Hurricane Ike, because it has been known for hurricanes to cause mommies to go into labor. I don't think I'm quite ready to be born during a hurricane, so I'm very happy that Ike missed us!
August 11, 2008 - I am now 33 weeks. My senses are continuing to develop, and I often hear my mommy and daddy talking to me. I especially start to move around a lot when I hear my daddy's voice talking to me through the belly. My skin has turned from red to pink, and I am starting to prepare for the outside world by storing iron in my liver. I am now about 12 inches long (crown to rump) and weigh around 4 pounds 8 oz.
July 20, 2008 - I am now 30 weeks old and about 15.7 inches long. I now weigh about 3 pounds and am about the size of a head of cabbage. My eyesight is continuing to develop, and I am now just cooking and growing in my mommy's belly. I have been moving around and kicking a lot lately. I especially like to move around at night when my mommy is relaxing and watching TV.
June 15, 2008 - I am now about 13 and 1/2 inches long and weigh about a pound and a half. I am now about the size of an average rutabaga. I am growing more hair, and you can actually discern the color and texture too. My baby fat is also starting to form a lot more. My lungs are developing rapidly, and my respiratory system is continuing to develop. I am becoming more aware of how I can move, and I am wiggling my fingers and toes!
May 18, 2008 - I am getting bigger and bigger. I am about 3 quarters of a pound and about 10 1/2 inches long. I am now about the length of a carrot. My eyebrows and eyelids are now fully developed, and soon I will be able show off my pretty eyes once I am born. Mommy is feeding me well, so I will definitely be filling out over the next few weeks, and fat layers will start to form throughout my body. These layers will eventually keep me nice and warm once I am outside of the womb.
May 5, 2008 - I am growing really quickly and am now the size of a tomato. I am now starting to hear. Daddy reads fairy tales to me at night and warns me about fraternity boys. Tonight I enjoyed a yummy whole weat pizza. I am definitely getting used to this.
March 31, 2008 - I can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and suck my thumb! I'm growing fast now and my mommy is feeding me really well. Daddy made me homemade chili last night and my mommy made me shrimp with mango tonight. Life is pretty good here in the belly.....
March 18, 2008 - Today I had my second ultrasound. I must be famous with all of the paparazzi already taking pics of me. I am growing fast and am now 5.6cm long. I can now make sucking movements too! I definitely do not like it when people push my mommy's belly as it makes me squirm.
